Now that it’s cold outside, it’s finally the perfect time for a hot drink. The go along great with the cookies from sunday’s blog post and an afternoon full of reading! They also warm you up after a long day in the cold.
Hot Chocolate
Hot Chocolate is always a great idea. There are so many ways to make them and so many things to add to create your perfect combination. Here are two ways, which I think are especially yummy!
Heat up milk. Then add chocolate and stir until the chocolate is melted.
For the first way simply add some syrup to your hot chocolate. My go to syrup is caramel flavoured but peppermint syrup is just as amazing!
Another way to make your hot chocolate more awesome is to add some seasoning of your choice. I love to add speculoos seasoning, it’s soo delicious. Gingerbread spice tastes equally amazing
Butterbeer
Ever since I was at Universal Studios and tried my first butterbeer, I’m in love with it. Thank god, there are lots of recipes out there, so I can recreate it at home. The one I present to you is from peta and it gets bonus points for being vegan!
Warm up apple juice and add cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and imitation butter. Pour nondairy milk into a mug and add the apple juice mix, then. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top and you’re done.
Mulled wine
This one’s a german classic. A christmas market without it is unthinkable!
Heat up red wine. Add some orange slices, cinnamon, cloves and a little bit of honey to sweeten it. For a non-alcoholic version you can also use grape juice instead of wine.
Warm apple juice
The last one is a simple one, but that doesn’t make it less delicious. All you need is apple juice and cinnamon. Mix it together and heat it up. That’s it!
