The Big Fair Fashion Guide for you – updated every week with love and passion.
I’ve thought a long time about the fact that I am, as a non fashion blogger, releasing a Fair Fashion Guide. But I got to the point where I had to ask myself if I’ve become crazy that I really thought a Fair Fashion Guide should only come from Fashion Bloggers. Because it shouldn’t! All of us should think about the fact, that our fashion is not only costing US money, but also other peoples HEALTH, FUTURE and LIFE in the worst cases.
When people think about Fair Fashion they usually think it’s only functional, it’s bag like and a little bit ew and too special. But you know what? Fair fashion is the fashion we all should buy so no human beings suffer for our 1€ t shirt or 5€ hot pants. We always think that fair fashion is too expensive, but it is not! We pay 5€ for our Starbucks Latte and when I compare that to someone crafting a whole jeans under horrible conditions, then well, there is no comparison 😊 so I listed a whole bunch of great and beautiful fair fashion shops, which also have amazing customer support and fit a „normal“ women much better than the size zero cuts of H&M and co 😊
I only listed the brands I really like myself. So every brand is personally approved from me for their prizes, styles or sustainable ideas!
Attention:
There are also a lot of bigger brands that are now promoting sustainable and fair fashion. But they are no sustainable or fair brands, no matter what they say. That’s a form of greenwashing (making the consumer believe that they are pro environment and green producing, but in most parts they are not).
BUT in my opinion that’s the first step into the right direction. I wouldn’t support H&M or Zara anymore, because they are just bad in general in my opinion (bad conditions for their workers, horror stories and lots of chemicals), but there are lots of brands that try to launch fair collections like Mango and Co. They are no “good” brands by a long shot, but I think when they see, that people will buy fair produced, chemical free clothing they will think about changing the whole system. So if your favorite brand is trying that out – give them a chance. Just inform yourself about the GOTs and Fair Fashion seals and search on their website if they got them!
You can also find a German explanation here: Fair Fashion, das solltest du darüber wissen! and an Explantation for all seals here.
